In his talk Dr. Manfred Dahmer concerts connects the game on the Qin with notes and poems, this extraordinary instrument, and its foreign music their importance to bring near.

The Qin had since the earliest times, a special place in Chinese cultural history: For no other instrument has been so much music written and delivered. No other instrument has been written so much.

The Qin remained a tool for scholars, painters and poets, philosophers and rulers.

The softness of her tone can be difficult to enforce. It does not aim at superficial effects, because their rhythm is not fascinated with catchy, appealing patterns. A continuous pulse is repeatedly interrupted, dissolves, goes out in one breath.

Dr. Manfred Dahmer has dedicated himself as a musician, musicologist and sinologist past three decades, the Qin, its music and its rich cultural background. In the late 70s he studied the Qin to the Central Music School in Beijing and Taiwan.

In November 2003, the Qin-art by UNESCO in the list of the oral and intangible cultural heritage Date of humanity.
